The Trump administration has tried to intimidate law firms who have represented clients in matters it perceives as counter to him. Chief among these is a firm named Perkins Coie, which has drawn the administration’s disfavor because they represented Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign.
Trump has wrung out compromises from several of the nation’s largest and most prestigious law firms, who have made commitments of rendering pro bono services for causes Trump supports as a way to evade the administration’s punishments: firms had their government security clearances terminated, and their lawyers barred from federal buildings.
In response, a number of other firms have signed an amicus curiae brief supporting Perkins Coie in their challenge. This takes the form of a lawsuit against the Department of Justice, the FCC, and other government departments.
DLS Design services law firms, including some of the nation’s leading litigation boutiques. We are proud to say that several of our clients are among those who have signed the amicus brief supporting Perkins Coie. It is not our place to identify these firms, and we leave that choice to them. But you may read the full list of firms here. You may read a copy of the brief they are supporting here.
