Can Google Bury Your Website if It Doesn’t Have Mobile?

Starting April 21, your website will probably appear lower in Google’s search results if you don’t have mobile pages.

When someone views your website on an iPhone or a similar device, if they see a miniature of your pages and have to pinch and zoom to read them, Google says it will penalize you. They only want to show pages which are, in their words, “relevant”. Only a page with a nice, clear mobile view will comply with their definition of relevance, where text fills the window and it seems natural to the device at hand.

You can read about Google’s penalty here.

And you may want to test your own website here.
