For the New Law Firm
DLS Design has significant experience with the design of new web sites, logos and branding, and printed materials for new law firms. Throughout our portfolio you can see examples of law firms who contacted us early on in their decision-making process, as they were planning their new firms. Some of our clients have been partners, or senior associates leaving an established firm. Others are former Assistant United States Attorneys, or Assistant Federal Defenders who have left government service for the private sector. And others are individuals from different situations coming together to start a new firm. These firms found us by web searches or by referral through other law firms.
DLS Design's clients are law firms in virtually every practice area, from all over the United States. Many of our projects are also done for established law firms who have never had a web site or branding, or those who have worked with the larger legal service providers and left because they didn't receive the close attention, responsiveness, and close long-term relationship DLS Design provides.
Long lead time is not a problem
In many cases DLS Design will meet with the principal or principals of a new law firm as much as a year before the firm opens its doors. Often this introductory session is conducted over the phone. We always guarantee complete confidentiality. During the run-up to the firm's startup, we discuss their strategy and the planned structure of their practice, so we are prepared to deliver a web site that reflects that.
In many cases we will establish a temporary web site, or a "holding page" residing on the new domain, and containing a basic mission statement as well as contact information. This places the firm before the public on opening day or before, if needed. We are careful to prepare these holding pages properly for search engines, since they may remain indexed for a long time. Hence, we avoid phrases such as "under construction," and work with the firm to come up with the clearest possible statement. This also enables us to continue building the best possible web site without being rushed. However, we will work with your firm to have the finished web site the day you open for business, if that is what you need.
Domain registration and your IT piece
We are often called upon to register a domain for a new firm. Many people are confused about the process, and we can register the domain or show you how to do it yourself.
Web hosting is a core part of our services, and helping to register the domain enables us to set up your web server faster. Control of the domain is always turned over to your firm so you may build the other components you need such as email and IT services. DLS will always work with our clients' IT vendors, and can even make an introduction to dependable service providers in many of the cities we work in.
New firm announcements and brochures.
DLS will design your firm's announcement, in printed or electronic form. We will take your text and transform it into a handsome printed card, and supervise the printing and mailing. For an electronic announcement, we will adapt the design of your web page to a format that works as an email. Then we can take your contact list or lists and email the announcement to everyone you need to reach. If you prefer a brochure, please review DLS Design's portfolio of brochures we have designed for law firms.
Growing with you over the years
Many of our law firms have started as two- and three-person boutiques and steadily grew from there. DLS Design has continued servicing them by updating their web sites. In general, we can update your site within 24 hours of your request. Just email us your new content text updates, photos of new attorneys, or news of new cases. Or if you prefer, we can set your firm up with our Content Management System, enabling you or anyone you designate to update the web site using any web browser, at any hour of the day.
As our clients grow, DLS Design has been able to help them over two, three, five and even ten years. We're there for our clients when they need new services, including brochures, new partner announcements, and emailing campaigns. We're there whenever our firms move, merge, or expand to a new city. In several cases, we are into our second generation of service, as we re-do older web sites to make way for new, up-to-date ones.
Two of our most recent clients told us they lost a prospective piece of business by not having a web site. Don't let this happen to you!
